Legal Concerns:

One of the topics we’re discussing this week is the legal issues related to mental health problems. As discussed in the lectures, in rare cases, a court can declare that a person’s mental illness impedes their ability to tell right from wrong. This insanity declaration affects whether they are held responsible for their actions and how they are punished for their actions.

For this discussion, I want you to brainstorm the positives and negatives of the insanity plea. Give at least two benefits and two detriments of this. To get you started, here is a really interesting podcast about this issue.
