Choose a paper topic of YOUR choice as long as it is within the confines of this class. Want to discuss any topic we’ve discussed in class from ethnic groups to individual histories, to systemic racism, to Manifest Destiny, or even modern topics that are relatable? Go for it. Make sure the topic interests you and that your question will be interesting to both research and write. Remember, this is going to eventually become your argumentative paper…meaning that you will argue a certain point and convince the reader of your stance.
Example Thesis/Argumentative Point –> Although the Western Allies were instrumental in winning WWII against the Axis Powers, the Soviet Union played an enormous role toward ultimate victory by turning the tide of battle on the Eastern Front, strategizing in the Big Three meetings, and fighting ideological warfare between communism and fascism.
Requirements for Assignment:
Present a completed and working thesis statement regarding your specific topic.
You should have a minimum of three primary sources.
You should have a minimum of three secondary sources.
Proper MLA formatting with upper left-hand corner information, title, and the work.

Grading Rubric:
10 points for thesis, 10 points for sources, and 30 points for description of each source and how you plan to implement it into your research/paper arguments.
